Forum Evening: Company forms and tax rules for IT consultants

On Thursday February 25th, ProData Consult held a forum evening for about 100 participating IT consultants at Stamholmen in Hvidovre west of Copenhagen. The themes of the evening were accounting, company forms, taxation and the challenges facing independent freelance consultants. Søren Piilgaard Henschel, state-authorized public accountant with Beierholm, guided the participants through the complex regulations, and laid out the advantages and risks IT consultants need to be aware of.
“The rules for self-employed professionals have become more complex over time. On your own, it can be a challenge to gain a full understanding of the choices you make and of how they affect your business and your finances,” explained Søren Piilgaard Henschel.

In the course of the evening, the accountant also touched on topics such as establishing a business, tax deductions, personal income tax versus corporate tax and taxation of work abroad. There was also time to network and to enjoy a sandwich.
